Messy little trailer in a messy garage... my house is getting messy too as most of my time is spent in the garage!

I did a little bit of playing with the 12V battery power yesterday. Even managed to "fix" the Fan-tastic Vent. I thought it may have been wired incorrectly but it turns out that the vent only works if the vent cover has been opened. I am GENIUS!

The skirting for the vent proved near impossible to install! The screws (that a previous owner installed) went from the top of the trailer to the inside (to hold the fan in place) and were in the way of the screws that would be used to mount the skirting. I got creative by gluing small tubing to the exposed screws and then applying gorilla glue to the other end of the tubing before screwing the skirt screws into the tubing. Hope this works!


I seem to spend a lot of time on forums related to fiberglass campers. Search terms like "belly band" and "roll and tip" or "12V wiring" are becoming commonplace around here. My trailer doesn't seem to match the descriptions... perhaps I need new wire and maybe I will rewire everything?








I adjusted the hinges and latch on the storage cabinet doors so that it will hopefully remain closed rather than constantly popping open. Looks like the door may have been a little warped so wasn't able to close properly. Seems to stay closed now. Fingers crossed.

I spent most of this evening researching and then booking campsites. Writing-On-Stone Provincial Park and Aspen Beach Lakeview Campground will see us this camping season. A bunch of others are on first-come first-served systems so we couldn't reserve. Crimson Lake and Waterton campgrounds will see us knocking on their doorstep for sure!

There have been a kazillion things that have been added off the 'to do' list for the trailer... who would have thought something so small could cause so much work?! I've been shopping and reading and tweaking, yet somehow I feel like I've gotten nothing done. I started by checking out the furnace (or do you call it a heater in a trailer?). I know this works because the previous owner lit it when we checked out the trailer to buy it. I should have paid more attention to how he lit it. Of course, there were instructions but they were well hidden behind a part of the heater controls. The heater controls that I have no idea what they do... is there an "instant shooting flames" button I shouldn't push? Bought a Boler

I bought a Boler trailer. Really. One from 1975. It's a year older than I am! How is it that being in your 40's seems older when you compare it to a physical object of the same age? Last night when we brought it home we had to go to an empty parking lot to practice backing up so that we'd be able to get the trailer into the garage when we got home. That was interesting. This morning we watched YouTube videos on how to do it properly (we weren't too far off in our technique). Apparently I'm supposed to come up with a name for my Boler. Not really sure that's true but it's what all the 'cool kids' are doing.  Some people name it based on the colour, but I plan to change that (not a fan of the current orange and white and sanded and grimey dirt colour that is currently coating my new little capsule on wheels). Some people name their Boler based on the egg-shaped nature of the little trailer - doesn't seem right.
